Gold Investment - Collector's Value

Gold Investment recommends that investors take collector's value into consideration when investing in gold. This is if they don't want to overpay for something that may actually be worth less than the selling price (or even the gold price quoted in terms of the monetary value).

Collector's value is in reference to the amount a collector is willing to pay in excess (premium) of the monetary value. This is also known as the 'numismatic value.'

For example: Collectors are willing to pay more for a "Mandela Twin Set" than the monetary value of the gold and silver the coins contain, simply because of the low circulation of only 5000 coins and Mandela's world wide status.

The Internet is a great resource to estimate the value of gold bullion coins in terms of the collector's value. A visit to a reputable auction website such as Bidorbuy, can give the investor a good idea of the collector's value of the gold bullion coins that are listed for sale in South Africa.

Special Note

"Gold is forever. It is beautiful, useful, and never wears out. Small wonder that gold has been prized over all else, in all ages, as a store of value that will survive the travails of life and the ravages of time" - James Blakely.
