Gold Investment - Authorised Gold
Dealers
Gold
Investment recommends that investors give preference to 'authorised gold dealers' or 'qualified gold
brokers' when investing in gold in South Africa. This
includes any entity which is legally auhorised to buy/sell gold to investors in South
Africa, through direct or indirect methods.
For example,
ABSA Capital which is an 'authorised financial
service provider,' can in addition to this, rightly be seen as an entity that's legally authorised to
buy/sell gold in South Africa. ABSA Capital is legally authorised to buy/sell gold in the form of
gold
bullion debentures. In addition to this, ABSA Stockbrokers is legally authorised to trade
in shares, including gold
shares, on behalf of clients on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE).
In other
words, it is clear from the above that our definition of 'authorised gold dealers' or 'authorised gold brokers' go
beyond the traditional definitions.
It is of vital importance to give preference to 'authorised gold dealers' or 'qualified gold brokers' when
investing in gold...
There
are many opportunists out there that will want to sell you gold, or simply steal your money, through schemes
and scams with the promise of gold attached to it. Please don't fall for it. This doesn't mean that there are no
trustworthy sellers out there, it just mean you need to be very careful when dealing with anyone that's not an
authorised gold dealer or qualified gold broker.
